Pueraria Mirifica
MODERATE EVIDENCEBotanicalLast updated
AVELOR SUMMARY
Thai herb containing miroestrol and deoxymiroestrol — the MOST POTENT phytoestrogens known (stronger than soy isoflavones, red clover, and hops 8-prenylnaringenin COMBINED). Used in Thailand for breast enlargement and menopausal symptoms. Clinical evidence: 100-400mg/day reduced hot flashes by 70-80% and improved vaginal dryness. BUT: extreme estrogenic potency means HIGH RISK for estrogen-sensitive conditions (ER+ breast cancer, endometriosis, fibroids). Case reports of hepatotoxicity and endometrial hyperplasia. Our assessment: effective BUT HIGH RISK. Absolutely CONTRAINDICATED in estrogen-sensitive conditions.
